What does surf mode mean? How to change surf mode?

There are 3 different surf modes.

1. Anonymous Surf Mode (default): surf anonymously

2. Direct Surf Mode: surf directly, don't use proxies

3. Anonymous Surf Mode (Only Use Public Proxies): surf anonymously, only use public proxies, won't use our own proxy (New in version 2.2.0)

Default Anonymous Surf Mode will use our own proxy servers and public proxy servers for your anonymous surfing. ProxyShell Hide IP will try to use our own proxy servers first for html pages, public proxies are used to download pics on the websites. So if you check your ip address, it may be always the same IP (not your real IP, but the IP address of our own proxy server).

If you would like to see a different IP when you check IP address, you could change the surf mode to the Anonymous Surf Mode (Only Use Public Proxies). This will make you surf with only public proxies. If you check your IP then it should be the IP address of one of public proxies in the proxy list. All the public proxies using in the program are anonymous proxies.

You should know that only use public proxies may be slower than the default Anonymous Surf Mode, because our own proxy servers are faster than most of public proxy servers. Anonymous Surf Mode (Only Use Public Proxies) is only recommended for test purpose.

To change surf mode:

1) Click "Surf Mode" button on the toolbar to change Surf Mode.

2) Right click on the ProxyShell Hide IP icon on the Windows Systray and choose a different Surf Mode.

When I check my IP, it's always the same IP address. How to change proxy(IP address)?

When ProxyShell Hide IP works in the default Anonymous Surf Mode, it will use our own proxy server for html pages, public proxy servers for pics on the websites. So if you check your IP address, it's always the same IP address of our own proxy server. We use our proxy server for html pages because it's faster than most of public proxy servers. If you would like to see a different IP address when you check IP, you could use Anonymous Surf Mode (Only Use Public Proxies).

Please see the previous FAQ about Anonymous Surf Mode (Only Use Public Proxies).

ProxyShell Hide IP is designed to let you just launch the browser and begin anonymous surfing, without worrying about what proxies you are using. ProxyShell could "choose" and "change" proxies automatically, you don't need to change proxies yourself.

ProxyShell Hide IP will always use multiple proxies at the same time. You can not select ONE proxy to use, but you can remove any proxies you don't want to use.

More technical information about ProxyShell Hide IP can be found at: www.proxyshell.com/products.html

How to add more proxies to ProxyShell Hide IP?

ProxyShell Hide IP can automatically update anonymous proxies from server, but you can also add proxies from file or clipboard.

To add proxies from a file, first click "Add" button on the toolbar then choose a file contains proxy list.

To add proxies from clipboard, first copy proxy list to the clipboard, then click "Right Mouse Button" in the proxy list panel, choose "Import Proxies from Clipboard".

You can have no more than 300 proxies in the proxy list in the Standard Edition.

ProxyShell Hide IP has ability to filter proxies which are not safe to use or not suitable for this program. So the number of imported proxies may be less than the number of proxies you provide.

How to export proxies in my proxy list?

You can only export proxies added by yourself, you can not export proxies getted from internet (updated from server) in the Standard Edition.

To export proxies, first select proxies you want to export, you could use "Ctrl" or "Shift" key to select multiple proxies at the same time. Click "Right Mouse Button" -> "Select All" to select all the proxies. After selecting proxies, click "Right Mouse Button" -> "Copy Selected Proxies to Clipboard", then you can paste proxies in the clipboard to anywhere you like.

Does ProxyShell Hide IP support HTTPS protocols?

For security reasons, ProxyShell Hide IP won't support to get https pages via proxies. All requests of https protocols will be handled directly.

Can ProxyShell Hide IP be used to download large files?

ProxyShell Hide IP is designed for anonymous surfing, it's not suitable for downloading large files. The speed may be not that fast if you use it to download large files.
